Music and Us : Our New Playlist

Music is one of the things that brings the whole world together, whether it's pop, an 80s hit or something else, anyone can get into the mood anywhere just with a simple melody and a few lyrics.

I'm going to share with you 4 pieces of music from my playlist, 1 traditional and 3 moderns. One of them comes from North-America, the other one from South-America and the last two from Europe.

The first music I wanted to share with you is by McMenor, a young Brazilian from the favélas. He made a name for himself just a few months ago thanks to Tik Tok, as he posted videos of himself singing this song in the small streets of the favélas and clapping his hands to make the music beat. A music label then spotted him and gave him the opportunity to record his first single in a studio. With several tens of millions of views on social networks, this music is going to be one of the biggest songs of this year. (Modern/South-America)

The second music I wanted to share with you is by Francis Cabrel, a very popular singer from the 70s and 80s in France. This is his best-known piece of music, with over 50 million views on youtube. I like it a lot because it's very gentle, melodious music, but also because the lyrics tell a melancholy story. The first time I listened to it I was really lukewarm on my opinion, but after several listens, I really liked it and realized that lots of French music from the 80s have become classic. (Modern/Europe)

The third music I wanted to share with you is by Akon, entitled “Right Now”. Without even having listened to it, you quickly realize how much this music has grown since its release. In 14 years, the music has had 968 million listens on YouTube, so it's easy to conclude that it's one of the best-known sounds of our generation. Every time I listen to it, it makes me feel happy and puts me in a mood easily, but also reminds me of all those summer moments. (Modern/North-America)

The last music I wanted to share with you is a traditional Greek music, which is often performed at weddings or traditional parties and on which people dance. It is totally different from the other music I have shared above, but sometimes when I am homesick, I listen to music like this to remember certain moments spent with friends or family. (Traditional/Europe)

In conclusion, as you can see, I have so many different types and genres of music in my playlist that I listen to. It can go from rap, to hip-hop, to traditional but also in different languages. I like to listen to everything but most of the time it also depends on my mood and the moment of the day.
